Trees and the city (London Edition)

Last summer I happened to spend a couple of weeks in London and my favorite activity has been wandering for hours around the beautiful city parks :)

Not very surprising coming from me, I know :P what can I say :) #natureaddict for life !

So in the upcoming days I wanna share with you my favorite side of London: the green one ! Lots of love xx

Exploring London: the Big Ben (theory :P)

Dramatic Big Ben perspective

LONDON, UK – While the first time I saw the Big Ben in real life was on the DoubleDecker tourist bus (yes, really chasing photo opportunities in EVERY possible way :D), these are probably my fav images of it from this trip….thank you wind and fluffy clouds! Well, I actually kept walking around and around there for hours UNTIL a nice sky appeared, but that’s what photographers do, right? ;) Enjoy xxxx

Mayfair, picture perfect streets of London

Beautiful houses in Mayfair, London with the typical black cab

Mayfair (as in Mayfair, London …not the Instagram filter :D) is such a perfect area to take your camera for a walk :) Battery charged, SD emptied, get ready for so many good looking and interesting details  it is gonna occupy quite a few hours of your time before you feel like leaving it :) I chose to take these pics with a 50mm 1.4 lens to add a little bit of dreamy effect to these already shamelessly pretty streets :) Hope you enjoy xx

Exploring London: Trafalgar Square day 2

Streets near trafalgar square

And here it is ! Second day of the Trafalgar Square loving :) (see day 1)

As you can see, either summer in London is always awesome or I have been very lucky with the blue skies on my trip :D How about you? What is your favorite area of London if you have been there, or the thing you are the most eager to see when you will visit? xx

Exploring London: Trafalgar Square day 1

London National Gallery with the temporary blue rooster sculpture

I have SO many pictues of Trafalgar Square! (yes, more … many more than in this blog post only, there is gonna be a part 2) :) I found it one of the most interesting and nice places to stay around while in London, it just vibrates energy to me with all those people moving around going places as well as the students and tourists just chilling on the stairs and around the fountain :) Also, I have been inside the National Gallery (which is FREE and was packed with visitors) and it has been pretty mindblowing. Apparently photography is now allowed inside of it in most areas but I just couldn’t convince myself to shoot inside, I guess I am too used to the kind of museum in which they want to kill you if they see you pointing a camera at something eheh. But I do think it’s a very good idea to let people freely take images and share some art online/with friends etc. What do you think? Hope you enjoy the pics :) xxx

The Shard of Glass, panoramic view over London #shardview

Panoramic view of the Tower Bridge in London from the Shard building

As a BIG fan of skyscrapers with 360° observation decks, I couldn’t miss on the opportunity of a visit up the Shard of Glass  in London :) The view over the entire city and all of its endless landmarks is impressive and I highly recommend the experience to anybody visiting London. You can book online your Shard Viewing Gallery ticket in advance so that it will be a bit cheaper than at the counter on the day but, as it is ideal to visit it on a sunny day, I would suggest you could simply go there as soon as the sky looks good enough during your trip… I did my best to find the proper time to visit it and scheduled it on a nice blue skied day but by the time I reached the place a storm was already approaching :P Changeable weather! So here are the pictures of the #shardview :) Enjoy xxx

So this is London! :)

Parliament House, Westminster and the Big Ben

Strangely enough, this has been my first time visiting London…despite having been at Heathrow for connections A LOT of times. I finally compensated with a long holiday allowing me to discover so much of it. The charm of the city instantly got me and I came home with many great memories and quite a few souvenir buys too (well, you know me :D ). I am so happy of having tons of new pictures to share that I literally don’t know where to start from, so let’s begin with my favorite moment … the walk to the Big Ben :) Yes, because I walked to go pretty much everywhere except for the Shard building which was too far away from my place (panoramic pictures coming soon) and for taking a doubledecker bus the first day cause I was too excited to be there and it has been super fun. For all the rest of the time, the good traveller WALKS to places … it’s the best way to make sure you are not missing anything along the way in my opinion. Also, at the end of the day you really deserve that fish and chips. So here are my first London pics for the blog :) You might have already seen some on instagram and if you follow me there (@faithiephotography) you know there is so much more to come :) Enjoy xx
